Wohngeld Forms & Application – Downloads & Help

The Wohngeld application form is the central document for your application. Here you can find out what you need to look out for when filling it out and how to obtain the form.

The Wohngeld Application Form

The Wohngeld application is submitted using a nationally standardised form. It comprises several sections that must be completed carefully and completely.

The form contains a main application and the landlord's certificate, which must be completed by the landlord. Depending on your personal situation, additional annexes may be required.

The Most Important Sections of the Application

The application form is divided into several areas:

  • Applicant Details: Name, address, date of birth, nationality and contact details.
  • Household Members: All persons living with you in the apartment, with date of birth and relationship.
  • Apartment Details: Address, apartment size, start of tenancy and monthly rent. This part is supplemented by the landlord's certificate.
  • Income Details: Income from employment, pensions, maintenance, child benefit and other sources for all household members.
  • Asset Details: Cash, savings, securities and property assets of all household members.

6 Tips for Completing the Form Correctly

  • Read through the entire form once before you start filling it out.
  • Enter all information truthfully and completely – false statements can lead to reclaims or legal consequences.
  • When filling out by hand, use a dark ballpoint pen and write in block capitals.
  • Do not leave mandatory fields blank. If a detail does not apply, note this (e.g. 'not applicable').
  • Sign the form in all required places. The application is invalid without a signature.
  • Have the landlord's certificate completed and signed by the landlord or property management in good time.
